At Holiday Homes Maridu these labels describe the building style and focus of a property rather than a fixed feature set. A chalet is a detached holiday house, a tiny house is a smaller compact cabin, and a wellness home is one where relaxation extras such as a sauna and hot tub are central to the stay. Across our nine homes the specific amenities differ per property, so this page lists exactly which home is which. Three homes are in the Czech Republic (Krkonoše/Giant Mountains): Celine, Elizabeth and Marianne. Six are in the Netherlands: Ayla, Family L-Cube, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube at Resort De Hooge Veluwe (Koningsweg 14, Arnhem/Schaarsbergen), and Family Wellness in Hattemerbroek near Zwolle.
Chalet
A chalet is a freestanding holiday house on its own plot. At Maridu, Ayla is a modern detached chalet set in the forest at Resort De Hooge Veluwe (Koningsweg 14, Arnhem/Schaarsbergen). Ayla sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom, has a private hot tub, a garden, a dishwasher, and access to the resort swimming pool. Note that Ayla has no sauna, no barbecue and no fire pit, and it is not single-level. The larger Czech homes Celine and Marianne are luxury detached villas on spacious private grounds with multiple terraces, each sleeping 8, and each with a hot tub and a sauna.
Tiny house
A tiny house is a smaller, compact cabin. Tiny Cube and Forest Cube are near-identical tiny houses at Resort De Hooge Veluwe (Koningsweg 14, Arnhem/Schaarsbergen), each sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. Both have an indoor pellet stove, a Smart TV with Chromecast, a fire pit, a garden, and a sleeping loft with skylight. Both share a wood-fired hot tub and both have access to the resort swimming pool. Neither has a sauna, barbecue, dishwasher or washing machine, and neither is single-level. Towels and bed linen are included at both.
Wellness home
A wellness home puts relaxation features such as a sauna and hot tub at the heart of the stay. Wellness is a stylish chalet (built 2021) at Resort De Hooge Veluwe (Koningsweg 14, Arnhem/Schaarsbergen), a hotel-style suite for 2 with a sauna, a hot tub, a barbecue, a fire pit, and resort pool access; it is single-level, which makes it ideal for couples. Family Wellness is a luxury family chalet in Hattemerbroek near Zwolle for 5 guests, with a sauna, a hot tub, a private swimming pool, a barbecue, and a large garden with terrace. Family Wellness is also single-level and step-free, and it is the only Maridu home with contactless self check-in.
