Five Holiday Homes Maridu accommodations sit in the Arnhem and Schaarsbergen area on the Veluwe: Ayla, Family L-Cube, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube. They all share the same location at Koningsweg 14, Resort De Hooge Veluwe (Schaarsbergen entrance), so for reaching the Veluwe and its walking and cycling trails they are equally well placed. The right choice therefore comes down to group size and the features you want, not to distance. (Our sixth Dutch home, Family Wellness, is near Zwolle in Hattemerbroek, not on the Veluwe.)
The five homes in the Schaarsbergen area
- chez Ayla — modern detached chalet in the woods, sleeps 4 (2 bedrooms), with a private hot tub.
- Family L-Cube — the largest here, sleeps 6 (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms), with a sauna and a large private garden.
- Tiny Cube — tiny house with an indoor pellet stove, sleeps 4 (2 bedrooms), with a shared wood-fired hot tub.
- Forest Cube — tiny house with an indoor pellet stove, same concept as Tiny Cube, sleeps 4 (2 bedrooms), with a shared wood-fired hot tub.
- Wellness — stylish wellness chalet for couples, sleeps 2 (1 bedroom), with a private hot tub and sauna, and single-floor living.
All five sit inside Resort De Hooge Veluwe and give direct access to De Hoge Veluwe National Park, a well-known walking and cycling destination; see hogeveluwe.nl for park entrances and opening details. Exact distances and walking times to individual trailheads are not listed here, so check the accommodation page if you need those.
Matching the home to your group
- Couples: Wellness suits two guests and has a private hot tub and sauna.
- Small groups or families: Ayla, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube each sleep 4.
- Larger families: Family L-Cube sleeps 6 across 3 bedrooms and has 2 bathrooms.
Hot tub, sauna and pool
All five homes have access to the resort swimming pool. None of them has a private pool of its own. Hot tubs and saunas differ per home:
- Hot tub: available at Ayla, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube (Tiny Cube’s and Forest Cube’s are shared and wood-fired). Family L-Cube has no hot tub.
- Sauna: available at Family L-Cube and Wellness; not at Ayla, Tiny Cube or Forest Cube.
- Resort swimming pool: available to all five homes.
Good to check before booking
- Animaux de compagnie: welcome at all five homes with prior written approval. Pet fee is €35 at Ayla, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube, €39 at Wellness and €49 at Family L-Cube.
- Fire pit and barbecue: a fire pit is available at Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube (not at Ayla or Family L-Cube). None of these five homes has a barbecue.
- Single-floor living: only Wellness is on one level; Ayla, Family L-Cube, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube are not (Tiny Cube and Forest Cube have a sleeping loft).
- Check-in and check-out: check-in 15:00–23:00, check-out by 10:00, minimum stay 2 nights. Keys are handed over by the host on arrival; contactless self check-in is not available at these homes.
