Every Maridu home comes with a fully equipped kitchen and bed linen, so you never need to bring cookware or sheets. What you may want to pack yourself are towels and a few extras, because these are the things that differ from home to home. Towels are provided at Ayla, Elizabeth, Family Wellness, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube, but not at Celine, Marianne, Family L-Cube or Wellness, so bring your own for those four. The sections below list exactly which home has what, so you can pack with confidence rather than guessing.
What every home already provides
These items are included in all nine homes (Ayla, Celine, Elizabeth, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness, Forest Cube, Marianne, Tiny Cube and Wellness), so you can leave them at home:
- A fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, with a coffee maker in every home except Ayla
- Bed linen (included at all nine homes)
- A private garden
Because the kitchen is fully equipped everywhere, there is no need to pack pots, pans or crockery. If you rely on a particular coffee method, note that Ayla is the one home without a coffee maker.
Towels: bring your own at four homes
Towels are the item guests most often forget to check. Here is the exact split:
- Towels included: Ayla, Elizabeth, Family Wellness, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube
- Bring your own towels: Celine, Marianne, Family L-Cube and Wellness
If your home has a hot tub or sauna and towels are not included, you will also want to pack towels you do not mind using for wellness.
Laundry and dishwashing: what to expect per home
If you plan to do laundry during a longer stay, check whether your home has a washing machine before you pack extra clothes:
- Washing machine: Celine, Elizabeth, Marianne, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness and Wellness. Not available at Ayla, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube.
- Dishwasher: Ayla, Celine, Marianne, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness and Wellness. Not available at Elizabeth, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube, where you wash up by hand.
Television and streaming
Most homes have a Smart TV, but a couple do not, so pack accordingly if screen time matters to you:
- Smart TV: Elizabeth, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube
- No Smart TV: Ayla, Celine and Marianne
- Tiny Cube and Forest Cube have Chromecast, so you can cast from your own phone or laptop
Packing for the setting and the season
A few items depend on where you are staying and what you plan to do:
- Walking gear if you plan to be in the woodland. The six Dutch Veluwe homes (Ayla, Family L-Cube, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube at Resort De Hooge Veluwe, plus Family Wellness near Zwolle) sit in green surroundings, and Celine, Elizabeth and Marianne are in the Krkonoše mountains in the Czech Republic.
- Firelighters or marshmallows if your home has a fire pit: Celine, Elizabeth, Marianne, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube each have one.
- Items for your dog if you are bringing one. Pets are welcome at every home except Elizabeth, always with prior written consent and a pet fee.
Tiny Cube and Forest Cube are tiny houses heated by a pellet stove, and their sleeping area is a loft, so pack with a cosy cabin stay in mind. Please note that smoking indoors is not allowed in any home.
Good to know before arrival
- Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:00 and check-out is at 10:00 at every home.
- Family Wellness is the only home with contactless self check-in. At all other homes you are welcomed on arrival and receive the key from the host.
- A security deposit may be requested on arrival and is refunded after inspection if there is no damage or rule violation.

Are towels and bed linen included?
Bed linen is included at all nine homes. Towels are included at Ayla, Elizabeth, Family Wellness, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube, but not at Celine, Marianne, Family L-Cube or Wellness, so bring your own towels for those four.
Do I need to bring kitchen equipment?
No. Every home has a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, and all but Ayla also have a coffee maker. You only need to bring any speciality items or groceries you prefer.
Is there a washing machine so I can pack lighter?
A washing machine is available at Celine, Elizabeth, Marianne, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness and Wellness. Ayla, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube do not have one, so pack enough clothing for your full stay at those homes.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes at every home except Elizabeth, which does not allow pets. A pet is always welcomed with prior written consent and a pet fee (from 35 euro depending on the home), so remember to arrange this before you travel and pack your dog’s essentials.
