If you are travelling without a car, two things matter most: how self-sufficient the home is once you arrive, and where it sits. Holiday Homes Maridu does not publish exact public-transport routes, parking details or walking distances, so those specific points should be confirmed on the listing page or with us directly. What we can tell you precisely is where each home is located and which on-site facilities let you stay put without needing to drive out, and that is covered in full below.
Where each home is located
The nine homes fall into three areas. The six Dutch homes on the Veluwe all share one address, so for reaching the resort itself they are equally placed:
- Resort De Hooge Veluwe, Koningsweg 14, Arnhem/Schaarsbergen: Ayla, Family L-Cube, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube.
- Hattemerbroek near Zwolle (Vogelzangveldweg 23): Family Wellness.
- Giant Mountains region, Czech Republic: Celine and Marianne (near Trutnov), and Elizabeth (near Jilemnice).
Because the five Veluwe cubes and chalets are on the same resort address, they are equally close to anything on or around the resort. The difference between them is not location but the facilities inside each one.
Homes that reduce the need to travel
Without a car, the value is in staying self-sufficient. Cooking on site means fewer grocery runs, and a washing machine means you can pack light. Here is exactly which homes have what.
Washing machine on site:
- Available: Celine, Elizabeth, Marianne, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness and Wellness.
- Not available: Ayla, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube.
Dishwasher on site:
- Available: Ayla, Celine, Marianne, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness and Wellness.
- Not available: Elizabeth, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube.
Every home has a coffee maker, and towels and bed linen are provided at all nine (towels are included at Ayla, Elizabeth, Family Wellness, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube; bed linen is included everywhere). Those basics mean you do not need to bring or buy them on arrival.
On-site facilities so you can stay in
If you would rather not head out for entertainment, several homes have everything for a full day on site. The six Veluwe homes share access to the resort swimming pool, and most homes have a hot tub, garden and BBQ or fire pit.
Resort swimming pool (Veluwe homes only): available to Ayla, Family L-Cube, Tiny Cube, Wellness, Forest Cube and Family Wellness. The Czech homes (Celine, Elizabeth, Marianne) have no pool.
Hot tub:
- Available: Ayla, Celine, Marianne, Family Wellness, Tiny Cube, Wellness and Forest Cube.
- Not available: Elizabeth and Family L-Cube.
Sauna:
- Available: Celine, Marianne, Family L-Cube, Family Wellness and Wellness.
- Not available: Ayla, Elizabeth, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube.
BBQ or grill:
- Available: Celine, Elizabeth, Marianne, Family Wellness and Wellness.
- Not available: Ayla, Family L-Cube, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube.
All nine homes have a garden. Tiny Cube and Forest Cube also have a pellet stove indoors and a Chromecast on the TV, which makes them easy to settle into for a quiet night in.
Arrival without a car
Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:00 and check-out is by 10:00 at every home, with a minimum stay of two nights. One point matters if you arrive late or at your own pace: only Family Wellness offers contactless self check-in. At all other homes, your host or a key handover receives you, so you should let us know your expected arrival time in advance. Parking is free at every home, which is useful to know if a friend drops you off or you arrive by taxi.
Matching a home to your group
Group size narrows the choice quickly:
- Couples: Wellness sleeps 2.
- Small groups: Ayla, Tiny Cube and Forest Cube each sleep 4.
- Families: Family Wellness sleeps 5 and Family L-Cube sleeps 6.
- Larger groups: Celine, Elizabeth and Marianne each sleep 8.
Good to check before you book
Since exact transport details are not published, confirm these on the listing or with us before a car-free stay:
- How to reach the home by public transport, and whether shops or activities are within walking or cycling distance.
- Pet policy and pet fee for the specific home. Pets are welcome at every home except Elizabeth, with a fee that ranges from 35 to 70 euros depending on the home, always by prior written agreement.
- Whether you need a cot or high chair for your booking, as this can vary.
